- abbey road, luckdragon
Abbey Road rescued us June 21, 2008. We had been without a canine companion for 3 years and that absence was taking its toll on us. We found her on petfinder.com. She is a four year old Cocker, Basset Hound mix, but we think she looks like a black luck dragon. You can judge for yourself.
One week after welcoming her into our home, we found she had heartworms. My stomach dropped when the vet told me. We spent the next 3 months getting her treatments and keeping her very quiet as the powerful meds did their job. She is simply the best dog! We are so grateful for her presence in our lives.a
Just in case you don’t know what a luckdragon is they are characters from the novel/movie The Neverending Story. Here is an excerpt that will explain:
—![]()
Unlike most of their dragon kin, luckdragons possess neither an immense physical strength, nor great magical talents, though they can still breathe fire, which is blue, as shown when Falkor fights Ygramul. Their only distinctive ability that sets them apart is their incredible luck in everything they do, as shown at one point in the novel when Falkor manages to locate and rescue his companion despite being lost in a violent, blinding storm and having absolutely no idea where to look for him. A luckdragon’s typical answer to how it is going to accomplish a nearly impossible feat is always “With luck!” Despite such carelessness, it seems their luck truly never fails and is a valuable asset for their companions.

Karol, I love abbey road, luckdragon. Surely she had a nickname! I am glad to know you are again loving on a deserving puppy.
Our Molly died in April 2007, & God brought a lab/cocker into this world in Feb. of that same year. Then in June, Samuel (yes, indeedy, after the prophet) & I met. Love at first sight etc. Now my baby is 45 lbs. & he walks very nicely with me every morning that it isn’t raining. (because we both would melt.)
I’m glad to find you again. Let’s be friends. Are you out of school now. It seemed like you were in the year round school & Earl was in another school district. Still love ya’, kiddo, lh
